Following the Europy Cup we boarded buses for a four hour trip to the NE to the State Stud Farm, Janow Podlaski. It was founded well over two hundred years ago by one of the royal families of Poland to provide them with cavalry horses and the regular infusion of Arabian blood to keep the quality high.

The horses from Janow Podlaski have historically been branded with a "crown & J". The Poles were ordered by the Communists to eliminate any reference to royalty following WWII. As an act of disobedience the Janow horses kept the brand and it is proudly presented in front of the new Janow Equestrian Center. All horses from Janow carry this brand on their left shoulder.

Last year the Poles were forced to add colts to the show. Ecaho (European Community Arabian Horse Organization) rules require that all rated shows must have classes for all ages and sexes. The show ran very long last year with the introduction of the colts so they had the colt classes on Friday night. It was inside the Equestrian center.

Like all indoor arenas it is greatly inferior for both the horses and photographers to outdoors.

POLLUX (Ekstern X Piawa by Eldon) didn't think much of it and neither did I.
