The sun was below the horizon as three Championships were decided; Junior Mare, Senior Mare and Senior Stallion. The ability to photograph was dropping towards zero as the Championships proceeded. The Best in Show Class is held on Sunday morning and I suggest they hold these Championships then also.
Junior Mare Championship
Reserve Champion, EKSTERNA (Ekstern X Emanta by Pamir) 2005 bred by Krzysztof Gozdzialski, owned by Falborek Arabians.

PALABRA (Enzo X Palmeta by Ecaho) 2007 bred by Janow Podlaski.
From reading the book about WITEZ II, And Miles to Go, one knows that the area around Janow is covered with trees. Here one of the stable blocks can be seen through the trees. The area in front of the stable is a sand turn out with water troughs. The horses are watered twice a day in mass.

The hotel is full of the Polturf people during the Auction so no one else is staying there. If you come at other times of the year you can stay in the Hotel and have ready access to all the stables and pastures.
Behind the hotel is located the graveyard for the famous horses of Janow. It is an emotional place marked by a large rock with brass plates listing the horses names.
